I recently shared a protein smoothie recipe that I am drinking almost daily. My one year old is currently eating everything in site, including momma’s food. So I decided to find a smoothie recipe that would be tasty and nutritious for her (I didn’t want her drinking mine since the protein powder could be rough on little one’s belly/liver).
She is starting to use a straw daily for drinking water, so smoothies in a sippy cup are super easy for her! Here is a quick and easy recipe to try if your little one is using a straw!
- Ingredients:
- 1/2 banana
- 2 tablespoons yogurt (we try to use whole fat yogurt when we have it – we only had greek yogurt when I made this video)
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- handful of spinach
- 1/2 cup whole fat milk
- *you can add ice as well, however we notice baby has a harder time drinking and is more likely to spit it out if it’s too cold
- Directions:
- combine all ingredients in blender (we love using the ninja bullet blender, especially for these smaller servings).
- serve immediately
- *if baby doesnt finish, you can always freeze the extra in a popsicle tray for tasty teethers!
