When it comes to spending, Liz would say I’m frugal (borderline cheap). She has heard the tired line “I could’ve made this at home for a fraction of the price” a few too many times during date nights out… Suffice to say, I’m choosy when it comes to spending, and I often discern purchases for several months before making a decision.
It’s important to preface this guide with that disclaimer, as it adds context to the fact that I’m about to encourage you to spend over $100 on a pair of pants. I don’t blame you for calling it ridiculous, but read on to either continue judging me or possibly be swayed to seeing it my way.
I have a framework for how I make clothing purchases (I’m telling you, there is a lot of discernment before I spend). Here are the 3 primary reasons I buy lululemon – these hold true for every item I mention below:
I have three pairs of these, some for as long as 3 years. They hold up great for weightlifting, running, and everyday wear. True story: My brother once spilled bleach on his pair and there were no stains… These are magic pants.
This is the perfect basic T. Plain and simple.
Like the Fundamental T, these shorts are a great daily go-to during the hot summer months when you still want to look your best. A perfect hybrid from out on the town to out on the golf course.
These are relatively new to me, but they have quickly become a favorite. The material feels very durable, but there is enough stretch for lots of movement. I have worked out in these, worn them for date night, and they are comfortable enough for a Netflix binge session.
This shirt has the benefit of comfort like a basic T, but the look is a bit more styled and structured.
The best shorts for strenuous workouts. No, they don’t have traditional pockets, but I don’t want my phone, wallet, and keys flopping around in my pockets while I’m working out anyways. If you are running, moving, lifting, squatting, jumping, etc., these shorts will keep up.
Great for running, fast or or otherwise.
I hit my deadlift PR in these pants. I’m not saying it was the pants… I’m also not saying it wasn’t…
Last I checked, this tank was on sale – worth grabbing one while you still can!
Probably the most comfortable material I’ve found in a pair of shorts. The thickness of a pair of sweatpants combined with the lightweight feel of true gym shorts.
My favorite pants right now. There is also a version of these pants with more breathable “Ventlight” fabric. I have a pair of both, so you can check out the Ventlight pair here
A great shirt to tuck in at the office, or more casual when left unbuttoned as a top layer.
Like the commission Ventlight pants, the material on this shirt is similar which makes it very breathable and great for warm days when you still want to keep it professional
For the fall weather, this sweater will be my go-to. It’s super comfortable and great for either layering or wearing on it’s own. I recommend sizing down for a more fitted look, as it tends to run slightly oversized.
Similar to the commission slim-fit pants, but with a more jean-like front pocket.
